Artist Name

Alek Tretiak

Born: 1993

Hometown: Irkutsk

Based in: Kobuleti, Georgia

My name is Alek, I am a self-taught artist from Russia, living and working in Georgia.
In my life I followed different paths, sometimes intersecting with the art world, and about five years ago I decided to become a full-time artist, because I always wanted to do something beautiful with my own hands. By now I'm steadily practicing the art, actively exhibiting, and have organised two solo exhibitions.

I work in several disciplines and often combine them, maintaining my own unique verve.
I paint portraits and landscapes in a surreal and expressive style, combining classical and contemporary painting techniques. Each of my artworks reflects of my creative credo - aspiration for understanding of the sense of existence and the metaphysics of the world, investigation of the structure of a human personality and its connection with the surrounding world. A distinctive feature of my artworks are original meta-ornaments, which I create using unique stamps that I invented.

Alek Tretiak In The Studio

I play with a variety of materials and techniques, and in fact, I am proud of my lack of academic training in art. It gives me freedom and encourages me to push the boundaries of creativity. It encourages me to create something amazing and different. Every time I finish an artwork there is an unparalleled pleasure which I try to pass on to the viewer.
