Armando Rabadán has received recognition around the world. He exhibited individually in Hong Kong with Ap Contemporary Gallery and he has participated at Contemporary Istanbul Art Fair with Mixer gallery and exhibited at the private Museum of Contemporary Art Elgiz.
"To me the job of painting is similar to jazz bebop; I create harmonic structures where to float while maintaining a pulse. There is no melody, there is no script, there are no rules to walk on, but there is a method, a pictorial exercise. The projector transforms a digital image into painting; the interpretation of the color due to the ambient light may be study parameters to the composition."
What inspires you?
Images are in our life to such an extent that we have become images, and they are unreal. We subjected them to computer processing, we retouch and transform them so that they are part of the digital reality. What is really important about images is their dynamic content, their ability to function as a n actionable image and blend into other images.
Describe your creative process.
The surface of the painting has his own life, it is an environment where I empathize. Everything that happens on the canvas overlaps and that sediment is partially visible. I find it interesting because I do not do it with a specific purpose, but rather it adapts to the ideas that arise later on, just as change affects the places. The origin of my paintings goes back to an idea that over time has adapted to a later one, painting have the same capacity to adapt as a city does.
