Burcu Panahi born in 1990 Istanbul Turkey in an art lover family. She spent all her life with drawing and painting as an amateur. After graduation in Cinema and Tv from university of Cumhuriyet in 2012, she started working in post production and production of movies and tv series. In summer of 2019 she finally decided to devote herself to painting and quitted her job as a full time producer. Women movements, freedom of speech, human right, gender equality, and pure love of human being are her sources of inspiration. Distorted faces, figures and emotions represents her objection to the present situation. She belives that the emotions behind brush strokes passes through the artwork and brings artist and art lovers together and make them meet each other.
Burcu uses different painting technics from oil on canvas to acrylic on canvas and mixed media. Her passionate on a colorful life is reflected on her canvas in every peace of her works.
What inspires you?
Usually female figure and emotions, nostalgic images and colors of nature.
Describe your creative process.
A photograph I have seen, an old painting, a movie scene, culture of the country I live in, a color in nature. Social events and women's rights... They are the elements that inspire me and complete my art.
