Etery Sidyakina

Born: 1992

Hometown: Valuiky

Based in: Belgorod

Etery Sidyakina is a magical realism freelance artist, based in Russia.

I constantly see very realistic dreams that look like movies, and I like to create
realistic canvases imbued with this atmosphere. All my creativity tends to an
atmosphere of magic and unreality. As the main medium for creating my artworks,
I chose oil paint, referring to the old masters and revealing the theme of heritage
and nostalgia, and the ain theme of my art is magical realism.

Sometimes in my works you can see images of death and withering, but my goal
is not to frighten or cause dislike in the viewer, but on the contrary, to show with the
help of color and environment that they are harmless and even beauty can be seen
in them. In many of my artworks, I resort to the symbolism of immortality, which can
sometimes be seen in the aesthetics of withering and oblivion.

A special place in my work is occupied by black and white paintings. The
limitations of the color palette are not spontaneous: I want to convey the feeling
of the moment, to give the viewer the opportunity to consider the character and
focus on your emotions.

I remember when I was a child, my mother told me that good camerawork is
easy to determine by pausing the film. Thus, any frame will be a complete artwork.
I really liked this idea. I am not involved in filmmaking , but I brought the idea of
a perfect composition and completeness of the frame into my work.

Her paintings are in private collections in the USA, Canada, Belgium, France, Australia.
