Artist Name

Ilona Koralova

Born: 1983

Hometown: Vysoké Mýto

Based in: Prague

I'm a trained teacher of art education, a fashion designer, and also a writer. I write poetry, and when I'm not writing, I paint. Life, colorfulness, vibrant energy, no boundaries—everything intertwines and blends together. When I create, I lose track of time and space. I immerse myself in the process and let a living image emerge through me.

More About Ilona Koralova

Question IconWho are some artists that have influenced your work?

As an artist, I admire Salvador Dali. I appreciate him both as a painter and a writer. He was a true genius. In general, I am drawn to surrealism in painting, but I wouldn't say I am completely influenced by it. It's a deeper process that cannot be named, defined, or labeled. It's about truly connecting with a higher power, a higher truth, and tapping into a channel through which creations flow onto the canvas. It's a form of communication. Communication between you and a higher consciousness, something beyond what you can name and specify.

Question IconWhat is the most important tool when creating your work?

Soul

Question IconWhere do you go for inspiration?

T Where do I go for inspiration? It is a place deep within myself, into the very center of being. It is also what surrounds me, it affects me. It is everyday life. Everyday exploration of oneself, one's inner self, and the recognition of oneself as part of the whole.
