Based in: Manila

I am a product of my environment. Born 1964, in Connecticut, US, to professional parents who spent a good portion of their down time creating beautiful paintings and arts & crafts. I luckily inherited their creative genes and started drawing unceasingly from age 4 (so I was told). My first mentor outside our home was an art teacher in my New Jersey, US, high school. He taught me there is discipline in art beyond creating just for creation sake. From then on I made it a mission in life to earn a living creating beauty and happiness with my hands.

After attending a private art university (paid by me and federal grants) in Georgia, for graphic design, I enjoyed a fruitful twenty plus year professional career which started as a junior designer with a Florida newspaper and ended as an Art Director within an advertising/design firm, also in Florida. Through those years my art and my conceptual work were almost exclusively for our clients profit. Always meant to produce results and to solicit actions from consumers. This was the driving force of my creative mind professionally.

I happily retired early, at 46, to follow my heart and soul. My professional career was quite a stark contrast to my personal life and art. My personal art had become a vivid extension of my imagination beyond painting and drawing portraits, still life, nature, etc. My focus was and still is mostly far off in a highly conceptualized abstract world of manipulating what is typically unrecognizable into everyday form as you have never seen it before.

I now, almost exclusively, use and manipulate the essence of nature and the fabric of life overall to create my visions. This essence and fabric is known as Fractals. A Fractal is a type of mathematical shape that are infinitely complex. In essence, a Fractal is a pattern that repeats forever, and every part of the Fractal, regardless of how zoomed in, or zoomed out you are, it looks very similar to the whole image. However. A shape does not have to be identical to be classified as a Fractal. Instead, shapes that display inherent and repeating similarities are the main requirement for being classified as a Fractal.

The major types of Fractals are:
Fractals in Nature
Fractals in Computers
Fractal Shapes
Fractals in Math
Fractals in 3D modeling
Fractal in Information and Data Management
Fractals in Computer System Architecture
Fractals in other areas of Technology
Fractals in Physical Structures
Fractals and Human Psychology
Fractals in Time
Fractals in Sound
Fractals in Art
Fractals in Law

Which brings me to where I am now. Retired from the US, living in the Philippines, manipulating digital Fractals into beautiful art for profit and pleasure.

Come join my world of, Visions by J.
