There is a poetry in the natural world, a lyrical beauty and power. My work is a meditation on my own connection to the majesty of the natural world, to the power of being alive. I am a recent cancer survivor, and my latest body of work reflects the light I sought at the end of the tunnel, the light I capture from the natural world and transmute into my paintings. My work is a literal expression of my own will to thrive and live, even through the most intense suffering. I consider myself a bearer of the light.
My paintings are an ode to life, to becoming, and to majesty. They are a reminder to take a moment to release the trappings of the mundane, to look up, down, far, and close. To be still.
My work is the result of meditation, intuition, and sometimes a real or perceived memory. A walk in the rain. The sky at dusk. The sunrise. The lotus flowers on the lake. The flaming sun. Koi slow-dancing in the pond. The night sky over all of humanity... that miracle every single night. The ultimate mysteries of the universe.
My paintings are made to call you home.
Home to yourself, to your own space of light.
My technique is immediate and instinctive. I never use black (the absence of light) in my paintings. My canvases convey an inclination towards light and space and expressive color, and change in appearance and mood depending on the time of day, the weather, and the season. My work is beckoning, instantaneous, and sensual. My perspective is tactile and sensorial. I create spaces that are sometimes dreamlike and sometimes reminiscent of the natural world.
I am the painter of the light. The translator of power.
The reminder to stop and be exquisitely still.
My paintings have been exhibited in Europe and the United States in numerous exhibitions, and are part of private collections in 16 countries around the world, in particular the United States, Canada, Italy, and Germany.
Several of my pieces were recently auctioned at the Orlando Museum of Fine Art.
I live for half the year in the majestic mountains of northern Italy, and for the other half in the Colorado Rockies.
My experience defeating aggressive breast cancer is the driving force behind my body of work this year.
The power of nature is the power of life.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by the natural world and phenomena. I see my artistic expression as a means for contemplating and understanding my place in the universe as a human being.

My work is beckoning, instantaneous, and sensual. My perspective is tactile and sensorial. I create spaces that are sometimes dreamlike and sometimes reminiscent of the natural world.
