Hometown: Denver
Based in: Italy
I born in the United States and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, studying on a full tuition scholarship under renowned artists including Jane Rosen, Don Eddy, Jan Groth and Jack Youngerman.
After graduating, I dedicated my life to travel and exploration, then settling in Italy, the most poetic, artistic place on the planet. For the past 15 years I have split my time between my homes in northern Italy and the high Rockies in Colorado, a land of wild, untamed beauty.
I am versed in all manner of painting and drawing, am a skilled water-colorist, but my true passion lies in large expressionist oil painting. Oil paint is a live, organic medium that changes with the weather, light, season, and time of day, and is the perfect vessel for my artistic expression.
My works have been exhibited in Italy, the United States and Greece, and are part of numerous private collections. In 2021 I was awarded as a finalist at the Biennale di Genova in Italy, and my most recent solo exhibition in October 2021 in Italy was a sold out event. I am currently scheduled for a solo exhibition in April 2022 at the Mills Gallery in Orlando, Florida.

What inspires you?
I am inspired by the natural world and phenomena. I see my artistic expression as a means for contemplating and understanding my place in the universe as a human being.
Describe your creative process.
My paintings are the result of meditation, intuition, and sometimes a simple whim. My technique is immediate and instinctive, constructing paintings in layers, often spontaneously covering underpaintings. My canvases convey an inclination towards light and space and expressive color, and change in appearance and mood depending on the time of day, the weather, and the season. My work is beckoning, instantaneous, and sensual. My perspective is tactile and sensorial. I create spaces that are sometimes dreamlike and sometimes reminiscent of the natural world.
