More About Katrin Roth

IconInspires

What inspires you?

I find my inspiration in the empty and silent landscape. Sometimes it's just a color or the movement in a surface that is interpreted in new artworks. I get also inspiration by exciting art from other contemporary artists.

IconCreative

Describe your creative process.

When I start to paint, the format and the choice of colors are first determined. The form often results from the movement with the color or an emotion to a landscape. I try to be awake and open in the process and allow new influences.

IconMagnifying

What are 3 words that best describe your work?

Familiar, emotional, clear

IconUser

Who are some artists that have influenced your work?

Per Kirkeby, Alex Katz, Peter Doig, Brice Marden

IconTool

What is the most important tool when creating your work?

Open mind and a open space to work

IconGive

What is the best piece of advice you have been given?

Be authentic and clear, do what is important to you.

IconLightbulb

Where do you go for inspiration?

To find new inspiration, I go out in the nature, Running, Cycling or just for a walk. It is also inspiring to look on my own finished artworks and find some new directions or ideas.
