Based in: Douala, Cameroun
Lès Gümes is a Franco-German Generative Artist based in Cameroun. Lès works with completely home made programs that generate colorful images.
Using complex equations that rule natural phenomena such as fluids movements, the program creates a chaotic alteration of perfect shapes. On an experimental journey, Lès tries to find inspiring shapes and aesthetics that stand out from the ordinary. These dynamic results are an ode to the math in the nature
More About Lès Gümes
What inspires you?
The movement of things in nature. If you don't look at them carefully they are just part of the scenery. If we pay more attention to them, we notice the beauty of the rolling waves, the swirls of smoke or the undulation of hot air.
Describe your creative process.
The code that generates the works is composed of successive layers of information processing. First, an initial structure made of arbitrary forms. Then a simulation of motion ruled by the Navier-Stokes equations. Finally, a process of logical colorization of the image
