have been working professionally in the visual arts industry for 20 years. Areas I have worked in include film, television, fine art, teaching and curating.
I'm passionate about all forms of art and design. I also dabble in music and furniture design.
I enjoy connecting with others and creating work that my clients are deeply satisfied with.
I have created large scale mural works in New Zealand, Australia and USA.
What inspires you?
Architecture, abstract forms and clean lines. I'm inspired by retro Japanese poster art, symbolism from indigenous cultures and nature.
Describe your creative process.
I start with color first, colour combination and composition is my key focus. I always want to tell a story even if it is illusive and mysterious. My aim is to transport the viewer into a slightly surreal world.
What are 3 words that best describe your work?
Abstract, Architectural, minimal
Who are some artists that have influenced your work?
Rothko, Hilma af Klint
What is the most important tool when creating your work?
Colour testing, I always trial colours first before creating the larger work.
What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
I'm a yogi so I like to follow the principles of the yama and niyamas
Where do you go for inspiration?
I like to travel to visit inspiring buildings.
