Mizue Yoshimura

Born: 1973

Hometown: Fukuoka

Based in: Fukuoka, Japan

Mizue Yoshimura was born in Fukuoka, Japan. She completed her BA(Hons) in Visual Art Painting in Camberwell College of Arts in the UK.
She exhibited her paintings in England, mainly in London. She now lives in Japan.

Influenced by light, water and the natural environment, She express the rhythms, patterns and colours of nature in her paintings. Her methodology begins with the careful selection and combination of colours and forms to recall the metaphors of nature. By layering acrylic paint onto a flat surface, into which she engrave, furrow and hollow out layers, she is able to create delicate a pattern of marks to offer a sense of space, depth and rhythm.
