I am an abstract painter/muralist of the new generation. My inspiration mostly comes from beyond the physical, material world, sometimes including the digital dimension. I understand the wall as an important part of a specific context where my intervention can manipulate its role. I play with the observer's perception and emphasize abstract thinking as a high-level tool for perceiving the world, both on canvas and the wall. My art is based on the concept of contrasts in energies, influenced by architectural ethics and aesthetics, and personal emotions.

More About Nikola Mihajlović
What inspires you?
Emotions, energy, nature and open spaces, diverse experiences...
Describe your creative process.
First I feel and imagine... With that image in my mind I approach the blank surface. Intuitively and spontaneous as I can, I start to create the painting, emerging into the essence of the color and textures of the surface. I let go of myself to the point when I exhausted my emotional energy in a balanced way. At the end I make logical decisions and bring order into the painting. That's how it's supposed to be :)
