Irina Safronova, aka, Palirina is a Belarusian artist whose works are created spontaneously as a way to express the emotions that drive her in that particular moment. Her fluid abstracts use recycled painting in an aim to minimise waste and create eco-friendly art.
During her creative process, the artists enters a meditative state in which her hands become an extension of her soul and painting flows freely to become artworks with meanings that remain open for the viewer to feel and find. She prefers to work on series of artworks that revolve around a particular theme rather than on isolated pieces.
In addition to an artist, Irina is also an art director and a professional stylist.
"My art is based on three pillars: fashion, eco-friendliness, and charity. As a professional aesthetic stylist, I strive for beauty and harmony in my paintings, transferring my emotions and fundamental stylistic knowledge onto canvas. As an environmentalist, I strive to minimize paint waste, using so-called waste-free technology. I participate in various charity programs."
What inspires you?
I am very inspired by the color itself and the combination of colors. It connects my whole gamut of emotions! It's nature itself that provides the perfect combinations! And I already love to put all these wonderful combinations into abstract form, creating my own, often fantastic, worlds!
Describe your creative process.
The fluid art paintings are meditative for me and for the viewers of my paintings. They are like metaphorical maps where everyone sees something that corresponds to his or her inner filling. And I only express my vision when I think of a title for a painting.
What are 3 words that best describe your work?
Environmentalism, Aesthetics and Philanthropy
What is the most important tool when creating your work?
I like the palette knife. I also like acrylic paints because they can be liquid or thick like oil.
What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
Whenever you don't understand a situation, draw!
