Paul Husner

Born in Basel, Switzerland, 1942. He moved to Amsterdam, the Netherlands in 1964, studied in paintings and graphic art at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy (1965 – 1967) and continued to Rijks Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten (1967 – 1969). He frequently visits Indonesia especially Bali and works intensively in the island since 1997. He received awards from the Urio Prijs (1969), Willink van Collen Prijs (1971), Jeanna Bieruma Oosting Prijs (1974) and Arti Medaille (1987). From 1980 – 1988 he was professor at the National Academy of Fine Arts (Rijks Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten) in Amsterdam where he taught drawing and painting. He held solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in Europe, USA, Singapore, and Indonesia. His works are in the collection of the Netherlands state, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, City Council of Amsterdam, Duta Fine Art Museum, Jakarta, Neka Museum, Bali and private collections in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, etc.
