Roberto Re was born on 17/09/1967 in Casaltone, a small town in the lower Parma area. His artistic character has emerged since childhood, expressing his artistic vein on every medium within reach, from milk cans to the walls of the house. The loss of his father, at the age of six, marked his life with bitterness and resentment. as a teenager, painting, poetry and football were his relief valves. He graduated from the I.T.I.S. Leonardo da Vinci works as a technical designer of electrical diagrams. His passion for painting has accompanied him since his youth to an extent that is anything but marginal, overbearing as a physiological need, it has always been an integral part of his personality.
Roberto defines his paintings as "intense moments of life", they are the result of an internal explosion of feelings by externalizing sensations that he imprints on the canvases, transforming them into works of art of technical and extreme abstract, for the artist painting, colors and the brushstrokes must express feelings and not reproduce a material and static reality.
In Roberto Re's paintings the process from reality to abstraction is strongly structured by a marked and organic or variously modulated drawing. From this metamorphosis the relationship between vital energy and rational abstraction emerges almost dramatically, giving new life to the painted subjects.
