Exploring new ways to ‘read the city’, Terence entices the viewer into a complex visual-scape through poetic overlapping and juxtaposing multiple layers of images.
Nothing in his artworks keeps still, always in a state of flux, mirroring the interconnected, ever changing surroundings that we experience everyday, hence establishes a link between the landscape’s reality and that imagined. Emphasising on aesthetics, he focuses on the idea that beauty exists everywhere, if you just take a moment, you can enjoy the space and time that we all conveniently overlook.
The results are reconstructed to the extent that meaning is shifted and possible interpretation becomes multifaceted. Rather than presenting a factual reality, an illusion is created to conjure the realms of our imagination which is always in a state of flux.
Born in Singapore in 1970, he graduated from Singapore Poytechnic with a Diploma in Electronics Engineering in 1990. He is also a professional photographer.
Private Collection:
Terence's artworks adorns luxury hotels like Capitol Kempinski Singapore's "The Lobby Lounge" and corporate offices like Singaporean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industries boardroom, Take-Two Interactive Singapore and Eaton Vance Asset Management International (Asia) Pte Ltd.
