"Beauty is so intangible, it is inherent in every object and yet everyone sees it in an instinctively chosen combination of elements."—Valeria Privalikhina
Light and air invade Valeria's paintings immediately evoking the atmosphere of France and Italy where she made extended visits. Works of Joaquín Sorolla, Édouard Vuillard and the late work of Claude Monet played a part in Valeria's subtle palette and light yet dynamic brushwork.
Valeria Privalikhina was born in a small town in Siberia in a family of artists and dedicated most of her life to painting. To achieve the effortless style she possesses today, she has undergone a 9-year professional training including the rigorous 6-year program at the Repin Institute for Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in St.Petersburg, Russia, from which she graduated in 2019 with a diploma project dedicated to Claude Monet.
Despite being based on a very strong technical foundation, her style is very immediate and free. Valeria's work investigates the deeper meaning of beauty, as well as talks about the fragility of the modern world.
Valeria participates in national and international exhibitions and her work is collected worldwide. Her work is represented by The Russian Ark Gallery since 2020.
