BLIC is a street artist based in the Philippines, often using the motif of a personified human hand in his works. The artist enjoys involving the public in his practice, and through his hand motif, invites them to relate to his art. The hand is a symbol representing the public, containing both a sense of universality as well as individuality - meaning, while hands are often a tool of universal communication, they are also unique in their independent storytelling abilities.
BLIC, deriving his motivation from the attention, curiosity, and even judgement of the public, is a member of the artist-group Pilipinas Street Plan, helping to bring the conversation of street art to a wider audience. He also is a founding member of Cavity Collective, a local community for street artists based in Cavite that colours the streets with creativity and passion.
