Lives and Works: Metro Manila
Bree Jonson (b. 1991, Philippines) received her degree in Industrial Engineering at Ateneo de Davao University in 2012. She is interested in the dynamics of the animal world and the insights this provides into human nature. Through allegory and symbolism, beauty and horror her painted dogs, cats, rabbits, wolves, and increasingly unusual subjects like sea urchins and anemones act as visual lines of inquiry into the complex and darker side of the human psyche.
Bree Jonson lives and works in Metro Manila, Philippines.
Her previous solo exhibitions include New Dogs, Old Vices, Art Informal, Philippines (2017); Argh! Screamed they who were sucked into the orifice, Underground Gallery, Philippines (2016); I Stared at the Abyss and the Abyss Stared Back, West Gallery, Philippines (2015); The Hounds of Eden, Artinformal, Philippines (2015); and Therion Mythos, OUR ArtProjects, Malaysia (2014).
