Daniel Pincham-Phipps

Daniel Pincham-Phipps

Born: 1954

Hometown: Leigh-on-sea

Based in: Leigh-on-sea

My early work was based on figurative abstraction and auto biographical. It responded to personal relationships, the people and environment around me which became a journey of learning and self discovery. After working with the subject for many years, I began to work smaller and with less challenging subject matter. From 1979-1992 I had worked as a comic artist, illustrating for the Beano, Dandy, Topper, Beezer, Buster and Whizzer and Chips. These ideas came briefly into my painting and helped me move my painting toward concepts more expressive and cohesive.
