Lives and Works: Lhasa
Dedron’s vibrant paintings capture the unique natural beauty of Tibet’s landscapes and towns. Heavily influenced by traditional Tibetan art, Dedron has incorporated traditional painting techniques with her own pictorial language to comment on the impact of modernisation and globalisation on Tibet’s environment and traditions. Her paintings incorporate Modernist, Cubist and even Surrealist influences, and her works are known for the incredible detail in the ornamentation as well as her energetic use of colour.
Born in Lhasa in 1976, Dedron graduated from the Art Department of Tibet University, Lhasa in 1999. She is a member of the China Minority Art Association and of the Gedun Choephel Artists’ Guild. He works have been exhibited extensively in Italy, UK, USA, Singapore, China and Australia.
