Architect and visual artist Eduardo Terranova’s visions derive from a personal heritage intimately associated with both pre-Columbian gold and shamanism. The glitter of precious metals is a phenomenon that transcends and ignites a new metaphysics of surfaces and abstractions. In his Eddie Mendoza Collection, Terranova blurs the line between utilitarian objects and artwork. “Lucy” for example, transforms from coffee table to vessel holding within itself a glittering art object. In Terranova’s designs, an infinity of scintillations emerges to become a veritable fireworks, igniting incredible illusions of light, space, movement and time. Terranova’s creations transmit the passion of his artistic prowess into works of practical delight and compelling design.
