Lives and Works: Istanbul
Ercan Yılmaz was born in 1967 in Ankara, Turkey. He graduated from the painting department of Marmara University Fine Arts Education Department, Art Education Faculty.
During his youth, he worked on the construction of his father's occupation, construction and isolation. He brought this experience to art education. His work named "Isolation" with artist identity has found opportunity to practice in public buildings and private spaces. It is the target of the buildings it sees as a statue. The buildings are naked. It intervenes with the products made in different painting techniques and reattaches the buildings. This arrangement is isolated.
Sometimes it is necessary to get out of isolated environments and sometimes to be isolated. The word "isolation" is used to mean protection, protection and hiding in a shell while hiding behind art or art. He performed performances by incorporating people into active art. There are installations such as "Windgirl", " Standing clothes ", "Crime scene review" and "Escape plan". He brought together various groups of people.
He worked as a teacher in various private institutions.
