FABAX

FABAX

Born: 1989

Hometown: Paris

Based in: Netherlands

I'm Fabax, I'm a french artist based in the Netherlands and I love making art with code and robots.

All of my drawings are first created with code, the algorithms I build for each of my pieces can create thousands of unique artworks. I pick the best and I pass it on to my mechanical pen plotter. This machine allows me to draw my art with extreme precision using any pen I can get my hands on. It is my way of bringing my digital artwork in to the physical world. Each drawing in a series is being drawn by the machine one after the other. During this process small unexpected details will emerge in the art piece. This is mainly due to irregular ink flow, or small quirks with the pen or pen plotter itself. This gives each piece a more organic feel, making them completely unique amongst the same series.

More About FABAX

IconInspires

What inspires you?

Nature and geometric design

IconCreative

Describe your creative process.

It might sound counterintuitive but I don't actually make art. I do however create little programs that do it for me. I give them a general set of instructions, but I always make sure to include randomness into the equation. The result is an ever changing (almost living) design that is a collaboration between me and my program.
