Jeanette Innala

Jeanette Innala

Born: 1968

Hometown: Skellefteå

Based in: Helsingborg, Sweden

Vibrant, otherworldly and radiating, Innala´s work seeks to explore the deep resonating spectra of colour and abstract movement. Internationally established with works in public and private collections worldwide. Expanding to Asia with a major solo exhibit in September 2021 at Deji Art Museum in Nanjing and having 34 of her works becoming a part of the museum collection.

Working many times with the unpredictable and chance as an essential element in the creative process Innala extracts energetic powers. Her unique expression is built up by veils of colours in many layers of a mix of traditional painting with ink, mixed media and digital techniques so that her paintings look both forward and backwards technically. A unique method that creates her own signature and colour language. Her work radiates a certain extra otherworldly power. Her immersive art invites the viewer to feel its meditative and energetic qualities.

Painting creates a space of silence in a buzzing world. Without that silence and presence, she loses the flow and the connection to what’s being created. Seeing her painting as spiritual rather than physical. Experimenting and testing until she feels the colour and movement that she is looking for. The shift between colour, light and darkness provides excitement, contrast and depth. There are no guidelines or assumed forms, just the flow of the process combined with an intuition that leads her forward.

Being an artist she is in the wonder of the magic of having the ability to turn colour into an experience that moves the viewer. Her intention is to touch, engage and find the feeling that reaches out to the viewer. That's why strong colours are so dominant in my art.
“Art is a doorway to something beyond and what you connect with is you”. She explains. As she sees painting and art as a way of connecting and creating a window to something beyond.

Since her childhood, she experimented with paint, woodwork and metal artworks. Jeanette is a self-taught artist who turned her passion into her career. Jeanette currently has her studio outside Helsingborg, Sweden.

More About Jeanette Innala

IconInspires

What inspires you?

Life. I always have a notepad with me to capture colours, shapes and ideas that come to me. I am passionately interested in the history of the world and what art has meant through time. Mysticism and symbolism are also major interests because they have a clear expression in art since the beginning of time.

IconCreative

Describe your creative process.

My process combines a number of different techniques, such as traditional painting with acrylic- inks- and spray together with collage and digital technology. Creating movement and a connection by combining colour, materials and mediums into an emotion or message that I want to express as an artist.

Where do you go for inspiration?

Life refills and recharges you with inspiration everyway you go. It can be by travelling, meeting new people, discovering inventive architecture, listening to my favorite music. Creativity finds me no matter where. I have been practicing meditation för almost 17 years which is my way of connecting deeply with creativity and inspiration.
