Marie Amédro

Marie Amédro

Born: 1989

Hometown: Arras

Based in: Wambrechies

I live near Lille, in the north of France, I am 30 years old, I am a Sagittarius and I am above all full of creativity!

I started painting in 2009 during my art design studies then life took me away from the art world for a few years. So I worked as a manager in customer relations while continuing to paint in the evenings and weekends. In August 2019, after having had some very positive exhibitions, I decided to devote myself fully to painting and to try to make it my profession. Today, I consider myself more plastic artist than painter although I still imagine my creations in painting.

To you who are reading me, thank you for your curiosity! It is thanks to many curious people that I have blossomed in this profession and that my paintings travel all over the world.

More About Marie Amédro

IconInspires

What inspires you?

My work mainly concerns the tree. This diamond which dazzles to the point of making us blind to its presence. I have always been very attracted by nature but this curiosity towards the tree itself came to me when I read the book "The hidden life of trees". I discovered a living being even more interesting from the inside than from the outside.

IconCreative

Describe your creative process.

The internal functioningof the tree makes me think of a flawless organization which is why I like to play with shapes, symmetry and verticality to create. I also use collage and relief to to highlight the bark of the tree that protects the sap from the outside environment. In this approach, I try to combine art and respect for the environmentwork. This is why I work mainly on salvaged wood panels, reusing the scraps and using salvaged materials.
