Mayassah Alsader is an Iraqi British Landscape Architect and Painter living and working in Lebanon.
She holds an MA in History of Landscape Architecture from University of Texas at Austin and a BA in Architecture. Currently, she is working with the award-winning firm Vladimir Djurovic Landscape Architecture in Lebanon.
Mayassah is interested in cities and their socio-political environments and dedicates her art work to depict both. She hopes that through her paintings she can contribute to the healing of cities rising from turmoil by documenting their glorious past and their promising future.
Her paintings “The Un-winged Bull” and “Field of Carnations” were sold by Bonhams auctioneer in London as part of the 3rd and 4th Konooz Fine Art Auction and Exhibition in 2017. The paintings are part of the collection of the UAE and Iraqi embassies in London, respectively.
In February 2018, she was selected by Mark Borghi Fine Art to be part of the InstaSelect group exhibition in New York City where her painting “City of Peace” was sold.
Mayassah was also part of a group of artists who exhibited at the “Talents Unbound” art show in the summer of 2018 in Beirut where she exhibited three of her paintings.
