Lives and Works: Singapore
Melissa Ngein was born in Singapore, 3rd December 1994. At a young age of six, she had started her studies of art by attending the junior arts department in Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. Drawing skills, the usage of different medium, painting and craft were adopted then. Melissa took great interest in fairytales and fiction stories. She always imagines scenes and characters out of the world.
When Melissa grew older, she furthers her studies by taking a diploma in the same school. She took ceramics as a major and concentrate on doing it well. Ceramics build up her character, training her patience and at the same time, training her to not be afraid of making mistakes. For Melissa, ceramics allow her to make as many mistakes as she can so that she can learn and experiment with the different techniques in the course.
Melissa is working to create works that will give the impression of a different world entirely. Hoping to bring smiles and enjoyment to those who seen her works.
