Lives and Works: Pathumthani, Thailand
Natcharee Hansaward was born in 1990, Bangkok, Thailand. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in art education from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. She began her career as a freelance illustrator and art teacher and then eventually quit to become a full-time artist. She is currently working as an illustrator for a food magazine in Thailand.
While studying, she gained a lot of experience in art teaching, art competitions, and art exhibitions. In 2012, her work was selected as one of the ten finalists in the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival Poster Competition 2012.
In 2015, she exhibited her works in group exhibitions. She was a guest artist in OOPS printmaking exhibition at Chamchuri Art Gallery in Bangkok. After that, she exhibited her work - a live-painting on mural with a scale of 1.8 x 2.7 metres in pointilism style, at Thonglor art space with many Thai and international artists. In October, she joined to exhibit her work in printmaking group exhibition at Kalwit studio, Thailand.
Style and Inspiration :
As an art education student, Natcharee is flexible in doing a wide range of art such as art teaching, painting, drawing, printmaking, illustration, and graphic design. She specialises in creating lively and experimental portraits with various mediums. Meanwhile, most of her illustration work style is inspired by vintage Japanese illustration books, children illustration books and a curiosity for human-beings. Moreover, she is deeply passionate about printmaking, especially in etching. While she was studying, she did etching for her art thesis. Currently, she wants to learn new techniques like lithography printing, ceramics, and book-bindery.
