Abstract Expressionism Painter Novi Lim.
"Although having an inclination to be inspired by nature and botanicals, I certainly have departed from trying to be purely representational. I found my most true and liberated self in exploring the beauty of ambiguity. So that my art is open to interpretation, which encourages viewers to imagine, question, or think. Instead of telling exactly what it is, something can either be flower petals, ocean waves, or silky fabric depending on what the viewers want to see."

About Novi Lim

IconInspires

What inspires you?

I prefer to delve into the depth and immerse myself in the microscopic world and cosmos instead of just the situation, age and year that we live in. My attention is drawn to the overlooked ,the secret, the fantastic, investigating unknown territory, it allows me to have a niche for myself.

IconCreative

Describe your creative process.

Art is my imaginary land where I let go of the subconscious, seeing something as simple as rainwater that puddles on top of uneven asphalt that glimmers in the nighttime from a certain angle - the subliminal stimuli that derive from the interation of light, colors, textures & suroundings piqued my creative process. It's important for me to retain the spontaneous quality while having the composition premeditated.
