I am inspired by light- it's specifics, color, and how it gives shape to the world. I'm fascinated by the structure of urban space, as well as in the patterns of nature- the structure of salt crystals and ice- the harmony of geometric and organic.
Everything begins with an observed moment in time- the effect of light on a building or street, or tree. I work with an original digital image or sketch, and allow the geometric forms and expressionist brushwork to weave into and alter the image.
The paintbrush and an iPhone camera, to capture fleeting moments of specific light.
