Rendy Raka Pramudya was born in Jakarta on June 15, 1992. He is the second of three children. I lived and completed my education up to High School in Jakarta. Since I was young, I started painting and often won a school-level drawing competition. My interest in painting stems from the habits of parents who often draw and paint at home. In 2010, I then continued my education at the ITB Faculty of Fine Arts. In college I majored in Fine Arts, a painting studio.
Like other students, I started college by painting formalist, symbolic and expressionist. Then my interest in abstracts appeared when I felt 'satisfied' with the ability to paint with realist techniques, which at that time I thought were merely imitating an object. I also felt that there was something more important to paint than 'just imitating objects'.
In 2014 during my final lecture I began working on the painting series "Creating the Journey of Life". The series that I finally thought could represent what I really wanted to describe at that time. Until now, I still do the painting series.
After graduating from college in 2015 I decided to stay in Bandung with the reason "because all my art friends are in Bandung". I often take part in art exhibitions in Jakarta, one of which is 'Sensation of Art Sensation' which was held at the National Gallery in 2015. In early 2016 I exhibited a solo exhibition entitled 'Transvertere' at ROH Projects. I also began to make a series of new paintings such as "Will in Creation" and "Layers of Life".
At the end of 2017 I passed as a nomination at the Bandung Contemporary Art Award held by Lawangwangi Creative Space. At that event I included a new series called "Forms of Time in Creation". In that series, I tried to separate layers in a painting by painting on acrylic sheets, so that there were different spaces and times in one work.
