Born in Sydney, Australia, Samantha Kuhn started her artistic journey in childhood, where she grew up in the bushy suburbs in Sydney. Where the bush and rock formations, was Sam’s back yard. A creativity grew that fostered an interest in form, sculpture, and the beauty of Art. On leaving school, she worked and trained to be hair stylist and, like many Australians, travelled to England and whilst there, was drawn to study Visual Arts and Sculpture at Emerson College. Graduating with an Advanced Diploma of Ceramics, her love of clay and the multitude of possibilities it provided began to take shape.
"Sam's home studio has a beautiful Australian leafy out look, her space is where all the creations happen with her ceramics and the lively hair studio. Sam has two kilns she works with an Electric kiln and her Raku kiln which is attached to a gas bottle and is fired up in her front yard. This is where the magic happens with all those beautiful surfaces."
