Seçil Erel is a London based contemporary artist.
Born, raised in Istanbul and studied in Mimar Sinan Fine Art University Bachelor and Masters degrees in unique mixed city of Istanbul between cultures.
Seçil had solo exhibitions in Istanbul, Ankara, New York and participated in countless group exhibitions in Germany, Switzerland, Italy UK and US. Imoga published her first artist book in 2016 and also participated in many symposiums and artist residencies. Her paintings are purchased by private art collections.
She started to to working independently in the industry and at the same had her own studio space for making her own projects and creating and collaborating with the communities.
She believes creativity is fantastic if you could share with people especially with next generation.
For that reason she left from her comfort zone. Before she arrived to London has been artist residencies, workshops, symposium, exhibitions.
Now her value is raising the positive energy and reaching the next generations with poetical, unique and blending Eastern and Western in her visual language as an artist.
What inspires you?
Everything could inspire me. I am passionate about life that we are living in. I just try to be aware, enjoy and to be grateful about every moment of everyday.
Describe your creative process.
have so much passion for life. I just try being aware of each moment and enjoying life at its best. I practice every day including the time that I spend out of the studio.I like spending my time thinking, drawing and painting regularly. Consistent practice is one of the main habits that I routinized to concentrate on my life and my work...

Reaching myself, being myself, moving my energy from the inside out to create new energy fields

Where do you go for inspiration?
go for a walk/cycle around the city or nature, sometimes museums, coffee shops and music concerts.
