Shannon’s background is a mix of urban planning and fine arts. She is drawn to the movement and energy in spaces and forms and creates artworks that pass a mood in you.
Dreams of water which are closely related to the emotions experienced in the day. Shannon’s abstract art works make close references to the writings by Edmund Burke’s on the notion of the sublime and the beautiful. It examines the relationship between the fear and the beauty in it. The material properties of acrylic paint are exploited to bring out the powers of nature against the fragility of our consciousness.
