Sini Majuri (Master of Arts)lives and works in Helsinki. She is awarded with Golden A’Design Award in Italy and also worked twice in the Awards Grand Jury. Her sculptures made of mouth-blown glass have appeared in over 60 exhibitions for example in New York, Tokyo, New Mexico, Toronto, Venice and Hong Kong. Her art has been featured in various international publications, for example in magazines such as Designboom, Elle and Urban Glass.
"In a way glass is one of the key technologies that modern science has evolved from – through the invention of the lens. Glass is a medium that can be weightless and strong at the same time. It bends light and has interesting optical properties. So, when working with glass, I have a wild material that is like no other. This makes it a perfect medium for creating something poetic."

What inspires you?
I'm inspired by the way contrasts in nature create harmony.
Describe your creative process.
In my process I'm aiming to create objects that have charisma and soul. Therefore studio made glass is the perfect medium for creating something poetic. All of my pieces are mouth blown and shaped by hand.

What is the most important tool when creating your work?
My radio. I need music for the creative process. After all, making glass is a dance with fire
