Based in: Montisi (SI)
I was born in Mexico City. That’s where I started my studies in architecture. Which strongly influenced my later work in art. I went on Erasmus to Paris for a year, where I did my first fine art drawing : a 170cm tall pencil drawing inspired my Caravaggio, which to my surprise came out really well.. So coming back to Mexico, I set up my first studio and started experimenting with oil paint and sculpture creating enough material to apply to Central Saint Martin’s in London. I got accepted, and studied there for 4 years, graduating with first class honours form my BA in Fine Arts. I did a brief internship for artist Antony Gormely right after graduation, and then had to leave the country because of my visa. That’s when I moved to Italy, and fell in love with nature. I’ve been living in Tuscany since, working as an independent artist. I am also currently studying jazz drums.
"To me painting is a very convenient tool to visualise almost anything. I can play with light, colour, contrast, space and subjects in ways that are impossible outside of it. It offers freedom for the mind. I use it as a portal. I am interested in things I don’t know what they are, in paradoxes, in ambiguity, in silence. I think it’s my way of reflecting on existence and to give homage to life."
