Lives and Works: Bengaluru
Ranjan is a contemporary artist who works with the classical medium of oil on canvas. Known for vividity in his style and themes, he has spent a decade building on expressiveness through brush strokes and tonal compositions in his very own style.
He had his first solo show of 29 paintings, in the prestigious 136 year old Gaiety Heritage Complex, Shimla. Dark, surrealist and desolate paintings to paintings of celebration, people and smiling faces, the audience were charmed by the artistic range of the young painter. Quoting a visitor "It seems an exhibition of not one but several painters".
Today over 50 of his oil paintings are stationed in the hill town of Solan, where he maintains a visiting home gallery. A former student of technology, and an expert computer programmer, he lives and works in quiet recluse in the city of Bengaluru, India.
