About Svetlana Eight
Ever since I was little, a special feeling took hold of me that lasted a lifetime.
This felt similar to falling in love or having a personal spiritual experience no one
but you have access to.
That feeling has been the theme of my life.
I was clearly aware that this is exactly that valuable and unique thing I can share
with the world.
And at some point, this became my life’s mission.
How to describe what is beyond the measure of words?
How to explain the way you feel to a stranger?
I had been exploring possible options which took me a long time.
It took a lot of effort for me to understand the most direct way to achieve the goal
is abstract painting.
I don’t want to get my hopes up by thinking that my art will someday be
understood and the mystery inherent be solved. But if a person looking at my
paintings gets at least a glimpse of my experience, I will consider the mission
accomplished.

Looking for a new sense of self led me to travel through virtual spaces.
I started to notice that in different geographic locations I feel differently as well.
I call it spirit of place.
Every single picture I paint comes from the emotions I experienced due to the spirit.
