My name is Valeria Di Santo, I was born in 1976, Argentina.
I’ve always been fascinated by colours. I’m a passionate person for pure, intense tones, for me they transmit energy and character. In 2008 I started my painting studies with my professors Zorrilla and Distefano at their “Plastic Research Atelier”, where was introduced to me this world, exploring different techniques and materials with their guide.
Without any previous project on my mind, I start putting colours on the white canvas in a spontaneous way, generating a chromatic chaos and also a chaos of movement. This invites me to develop the painting through lines, colours passages, textures and Sgraffito technique. Mainly I use oil for my work, but sometimes at the beginning I use acrylic paints.
This freedom and spontaneity are the basis of my creative process, connecting with my own emotions and leading me to a conversation with my artwork. A kind of freedom I only feel while I paint, where I flow with my work and I can let myself go.
Generally my work is abstract. However when the spectator looks at it, connects with his/her own creativity and imagination finding magic images of surrealistic worlds.
My artwork can be found in different private collections in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Bolivia, Colombia Mexico, Canada, EEUU, Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain and Portugal.
