Born in Mumbai, India, in 1963, Vinay Sane is a self-taught artist. Vinay is enginner by education and early part of profession (B Tech and M Tech from IIT Bombay). Since the last 15 years he is a full-time artist.
Vinay predominantly works in Acrylic medium, but he is not averse to Oil medium. Vinay does semi-abstractive-landscapes, and pure play abstracts.
Vinay loves to paint. The fun and joy that colors bring to his thoughts and experiences inspire him to create something more meaningful and beautiful. A stroke of a brush or a shade of blue sets him on an arduous journey to scale the tall, tough summits in his mind. His paintings are a window into the deepest recesses of his mind. A painting is a vision in his mind's eye. The form that eventually takes shape on the canvas bears a colorful testimony to his passion, pain and a compelling urge to fill the canvas with his emotions and experiences. Painting is passion for him to express his innermost thoughts with a willing listener who will assess his mastery over the craft and more importantly, also listen to his language of love and hope. Vinay invites you to find your own meanings in his works. If they make you think, he would have achieved his objective!
Vinay has participated in many group Shows. Some of the prominent ones are: TRIO, Nehru Centre Art Gallery, Mumbai (2019), AMALGAMATION 4, Cymroza art gallery, Mumbai (2018). What inspires you?
Vinay’s painting efforts have also been greatly influenced by the tranquil surroundings of his ancestral home in Wai, Maharashtra, INDIA, a place he keeps returning to, to spend many hours on the banks of the beautiful Krishna river. He finds peace and an inner spiritual experience through his abstract landscape paintings.
Describe your creative process.
I work on two platforms. One platform is impressionist ladscapes. I take inspiration from nature and try to depict it in my own way. Riding on the emotions of love and hope. The second platform is pure-play abstractive. I think about fundamental emotions such as hunger, love, peace and bliss. I work on these and come up with my own interpretation of these emotions. I also work on certain concepts such as soul, and mind and come up with my own interpretations.
