Yao Sun was born in Shanghai in 1974. He graduated from the China Academy of Fine Arts with a BA in oil painting in 1998. In 2001, he graduated from the University of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts with a M.F.A. In 2012, he finished his Ph.D. in oil painting from China Academy of Fine Arts. Currently he loives and works in Shanghai.
