Yu Chai Lee enjoys looking at forms in flux, such as the movement of light and water, shadows, figures in a crowd, branches in the wind, subtle clouds in the sky. The variations and seriality in moving images ranging from delicacy to abruptness draws her in endlessly. Through the use of technology, media art allows her to share her thoughts with others using concrete yet varied methods. She is eager to develop a creative practice that entices all the human senses, including not only the visual but also the tactile and auditory. She aspires to represent feelings of cold and warmth, the vitality of modern life, nostalgia for the loss of the past, our ordinary but precious daily life and the awe of nature. Through her visual works that incorporate many genres and disciplines, she wants to show our daily life transformed into art.
