Based in Chicago, Zack received his BFA in Painting from the College of Visual Arts in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He has participated in a number of gallery exhibitions in Chicago at the Hairpin Arts Center, ARC Gallery, and the Three Seeds Gallery. His work is held in the collection of sculptor Nick Cave, and in 2020 Zack was named a Saatchi Art Rising Star.

What inspires you?
I am inspired by other artists, skateboarding, growing fractal systems, the science of spirituality, and meditation brought about by repetitive processes.
Describe your creative process.
I use intuition to solve compositional dilemmas, favoring figure/ground ambiguities, where I honor playfulness and honesty. Trying to invent painting processes, I reference printmaking and architecture, fusing polarizing patterns and shapes.
