Artist Statement
A collection of original, vintage postage stamps arranged on canvas with a painted wooden circle. The work is mounted behind conservation glass within a dark brown, wooden frame.
Using a combination of British and Norwegian stamps, they have been laid out in a geometric pattern forming the shape of a globe. This artwork celebrates the special relationship the two countries have and the yearly tradition of Norway providing the Christmas tree for Trafalgar Square in London.
Oslomarka refers to the forested areas surrounding Oslo where the tree is sourced.
Listed size includes the frame.
