A painting created in response to the Francis Bacon painting: 'Study for Self Portrait' (1963) - this image is part of a trio of paintings made by Myers for the group show 'Made from the museum' at Cardiff MADE gallery in 2015. The aim was to connect directly with and create a physical response to an artwork or artifact from the Cardiff Museum Art collection. Stagnant in particular links to Bacon's figurative form, placement of the figure within the composition and the framing of the forms within the image itself.
