Alice Wang makes sculptures, drawings, videos, prints, and experimental films.
Alice Wang received a BSc in Computer Science and International Relations from the University of Toronto, BFA from the California Institute of the Arts, and MFA from New York University. Wang was a fellow at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, a
Villa Aurora fellow in Berlin, and the recipient of several major grants from the Canada Council for the Arts. Wang has presented solo exhibitions at Capsule Shanghai, ltd los angles, Human Resources, 18th Street Arts Center, and Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions; and she has lectured and presented work at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, the Armory Center for the Arts, the Shanghai Himalayas Museum, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, and the K11 Art Foundation. Wang’s upcoming solo exhibitions will be presented at the Visitor Welcome Center in Los Angeles, and Wyoming Project in Beijing. She will be a Visiting Assistant Professor in the art program at NYU Shanghai this fall. Wang co-organizes The Magic Hour, an outdoor exhibition site housed on a mesa in the high desert of Twentynine Palms, California. She lives and works in Los Angeles.
