Artist Statement
Channelling the colours of Australia's Outback, Desert Rainbow is homage to summer sunsets in North-West Queensland.
From the spiky spinifex grass to the smells and insect orchestra as the sun goes down, I'm always amazed at the intensity of everything at sunset.
Standing on the rocky gravel of Mount Isa's dirt roads, and contemplating the sheer history of life of inland Australia is humbling and inspiring at once.

Alison Mooney is an Australian artist exploring colour, movement and curiosity from her studio on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
Her work is an invitation for interaction. Layered illustrative elements never quite add up to a fully resolved whole. Each piece is ultimately designed to inspire fresh energy and movement to a space.
Alison has been showing her work publicly since 2009.
She has works held in private collections in Japan, NZ, USA, the UK, Canada, Austria and throughout Australia; and in the public collection of the Sunshine Coast Council.
Alison's public artworks feature in Brisbane, on the Gold Coast, Noosa, the Sunshine Coast and St. Kilda, Melbourne.
