About the art
Artist statement
This is the third painting in the Marimba Squares series. Four distinct squares (yellow-orange, green, blue and violet) are placed equidistantly on a blaringly warm red background. I am interested in conveying how the colors of the squares harmonize as a unit but also pulsate against the red background, breaking away from a deceptively static existence. Acrylic paint on Arches 300 lb cold-pressed watercolor paper.
