About the art
Artist statement
The genesis of this painting originated from a series of conversations with Ian de Souza, an extraordinary artist based in Fremantle, Perth, Australia. Having the pleasure of collaborating for our Rhythmic Resonance exhibition at The Private Museum, Singapore, I gained insight into his recollection of attempting to capture the Australian landscape. From a third party's perspective, the painting is a vivid depiction inspired by his descriptions of the unique landscape, characterized by immense power and vastness. The impact of his experiences was so significant that upon returning to my studio, I promptly began laying down the foundations for what eventually evolved into this massive quadriptych.
